Marunda Dam Construction Stagnated

The City Administration's effort to minimize flooding in coastal area threatened
to fail. One of the case is Marunda dam construction in Bambu Kuning Village,
Cilincing has been halted 1.5 years ago.

contruction. It is because the existence of dam is expected could reduce
flooding during rainy season.
“Flooding
always hit the area anually,” said Rofik (30) a local resident, Monday (10/6).
Cilincing
Sub-District Head, Nana Hendriana explained the cessation cause due to land
acquisition problem.
“Land
that have been aqcuired has 36 hectare wide, while the rest of it is still
being recorded by team of North Jakarta Administration,” he said.
The land
aqcuisition problem caused by several factors. One of them is many residents
claimed who claimed as owner of the land that has not been acquire.
“Latest
data shown, 20 hectare has not been acquire, 11 hectares land owner have been
identified while other 9 hectares is still searching,” she disclosed.
